Vættir .....
Carvings of wights, by Michael Eli
with magickal input from savanna.
The Old Norse term vættir and its english cognate wights
literally mean 'beings' and relate etymologically to other forms
of the verb to be, like was and were.
Vættir and wights normally refer to supernatural 'beings',
especially landvættir (land spirits)
Landvættir (land spirits) are chthonic guardians of specific grounds,
such as wild places or farms. When Norse seafarers approached land,
they reportedly removed their carved dragon heads from the bows of
their longships, so as not to frighten and thus provoke the landvættir to
attack, thereby incur bad luck from them.

John Dee the Magician who stormed heaven
a great documentary on the "Astrologer" to Queen Elizabeth
featuring magician Alan Moore among others. It's dramatized
for television, but entertaining nonetheless...

"Leigidh mi mo chorran sios
’S an dias biadhchar fo mo ghlac,
Togam suas mo shuil an aird,
Tionndam air mo shail gu grad,
Deiseil mar thriallas a ghrian
Bho ’n airde ’n ear gu ruig an iar,
Bho ’n airde tuath le gluasadh reidh,
Gu fior chre na h-airde deas.
Bheir mi cliu do Righ nan gras
Airson cinneas barr na h-uir,"

synæsthesia & alchemical spirit
Harry Smith " Mirror Animations "
"Smith approached life in an artistic manner, so that distinctions between art and life became meaningless. As with the surrealists, he rearranged everyday elements in new ways in order to show us how the fantastic was embedded in the mundane (and how “mundanity” was a consequence of how we perceived the world, rather than a reflection the external world)."
